As a Financial Adviser at Vista Financial Planning Group, I provide comprehensive investment management and financial planning services to our clients, specializing pension plan lump sums, permanent life insurance, and retirement planning. My journey in the financial services industry began in 2008, but my professional career started much earlier. Before transitioning to finance, I served in the United States Air Force for 21 years. I had the honor of flying the F-16 and ultimately served as a Squadron Commander before retiring from the Air Force in 2002.
Following my military service, I joined Alaska Airlines as a 737 pilot, a role I maintained until 2022. Remarkably, from 2008 until my retirement from Alaska Airlines, I balanced two full-time careers – flying the skies and advising clients on their financial futures. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from the University of Washington, which I obtained in 1981.
One of the most fulfilling aspects of my job is providing investment advice to my fellow airline employees. I take pride in helping them focus on their crucial role of getting the flying public safely to its destination while having the confidence that their financial future is in good hands. I believe that the greatest value I can provide for my clients is the ability to help them save and invest toward their goals. I assist them in staying focused on the long term, aiming that near-term market volatility doesn't derail their investment plans, and I help them quantify how much is enough to retire with the lifestyle they expect.
A native of Forks, Washington, I now reside in Federal Way, Washington, with my wife, Becky. Together, Becky and I have two adult daughters. In my free time, I love to read, garden, hike, bike, and fish with friends whenever I can find the time. However, my greatest passion is traveling internationally with my wife as much as possible.
